I've only had about an hour sleep since 9PM Friday night, it's now a bit over 26 hours later than that. I have, of course been reading HP 6.
Spoilers behind the cut.
Oh dear gods, JK Rowling needs an editor. I've seen tighter, better plotted, better written fan fiction in her universe. At least the characterization for Harry was better than in OotP, but this time it was Albus who was completely out of line with everythign we had been shown about him in previous books. It's almost like she can't make up her mind. *sigh*
And just for the record, I don't buy Evil!Snape. Dumbledore could be wrong, but not _that_ wrong. There has to be more to it than currently meets the eye, because taken at face value, well, quite frankly this storyline blows chunks. It lacks any sort of logical consistency, and the whole setup with Bellatrix, Narcissa, and Snape early in the book is entirely too contrived. If this book had been a freshman effort, it never would have been published.
Unless one is operating in a pure fantasy world with no rules ( or rules that are known to change), then the writer has to keep some internal consistency. It's beyond idiotic to set up somehting one way over the course of 5 books (Snape's loyalty to Dumbledore, Dumbledore's omniscience) and then in book 6 jerk it away and say, "Sorry, been lying about this the whole time." Dreck. Any fan fiction that did this would be roasted in effigy. It's thoroughly insulting to the reader.
I feel rather like I've wasted ~24 hours of my life.
I'll read book 7, but in the meantime, I'm going back to fan fiction. At least ther are author's there who refrain from insulting my intelligence.

Thank God someone else thinks it isn't all that!!!
Well...I have now read your comments. I was so disappointed with this book. First I am shattered about Dumbledore. I just never dreamed of killing him off. But they way it was done, Snape killing him off. I mean you can be wrong but not that wrong about someone. I think is what is bothering me the most, and the fact that I can't spell. But with the way she wrote this book it gives hope to anyone who wants to be a writer. I just don't think it was a good as the others. The other thing I don't get at the end why didn't any of the Order or the DA kill the Deatheaters. I mean they would have killed them, so why were they not killed. They all know the spells, but yet they chose to stun or impede them. Anyway, I needed to vent. I just feel this does not live up to her other books. Then you read the reviews that puts her in the same league as TOLKEN....I DON'T THINK SO. They are good books and they are getting children to read again. That is important but they ain't Tolken material.Ok thanks for that.

Re: Thank God someone else thinks it isn't all that!!!
I sincerely hope there is more to that scene that meets the eye. Taken at face value, AD's death is entirely too out of place with the rest of the series, as is Evil!Snape. For 5 books we've been reminded at every turn that, nasty piece of work though he may be, Snape is still fundamentally good (ie loyal to Dumbledore.) Now all of a sudden we're supposed to believe that was all wrong? To (mis)quote the Bard "Something's rotten in the State of Potterdom."
